Humboldt Lagoons State Park

Humboldt Lagoons State Park

Humboldt Lagoons State Park is about 30 miles south of Eureka California, and was created in 1921 by the Save-the-Redwoods League from lands purchased from the Pacific Lumber Company. It is now the third largest park in the California State Park System, at nearly 53,000 acres

While the park has gorgeous coast lines, it’s really famed for the Coast Redwoods. 100 of the of the 137 largest Redwoods grow in the park.

Halloween Disneyland Pictures – Day 1

Our trip to Disney coincided with the beginning of the Halloween Season. As such, major portions of the park were decorated for the season.

The VERY first stop for us was my second favorite ride. The Haunted Mansion. It was decorated for “Nightmare Before Christmas,” which I thought was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, my favorite ride, Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for maintenance. But I did see this forlorn little lantern sitting on a post nearby.

During lunch, in Downtown Disney, noticed this “Police Car.” Looks pretty legal to me.

When I was in Oakland recently, I took the ferry across the bay to San Francisco. As it was still early, and not quite tourist season yet, I was able to get a ticket to Alcatraz.

As I was so early, I was able to go on the garden tour which was pretty awesome.

After nearly an hour on the Garden Tour, I finally got pictures of the most magnificent site in the city; The Golden Gate Bridge.
