Happy Birthday “Flying Saucers”
Today in 1947, Kenneth Arnold reported nine UFO’s flying in a chain near Mt Rainier Washington. His widely circulated descriptions of the craft as disc or saucer shaped gave the newspapers the chance to coin the phrase “Flying Saucers”. While by no means the first sighting of such objects, this can credibly be pinpointed as the start of Modern Ufology.
